How firm is the Essential mattress?
The Simba Hybrid™ Essential mattress has a medium-firm feel, offering robust support with a comfortable surface.
We've engineered numerous prototypes to create a mattress design that suits a wide range of sleepers. The Essential is perfect for those who prefer a slightly firmer sleep surface while still benefiting from our innovative hybrid technology.
If you prefer a softer or even more luxurious feel, consider our Hybrid™ Original or Hybrid™ Pro models.
What's the difference between your mattresses?
No matter which of our three Hybrid™ Mattresses you choose, you're always guaranteed our patented blend of cooling foam and ultra responsive Aerocoil® springs.
The difference lies in the layers and the number of springs in each:
The Hybrid™ Essential Mattress has four comfort layers and up to 1,500 springs and is designed for those who are looking for a medium firm feel.
The Hybrid™ Original Mattress, offering a medium plush feel, has 5 comfort layers and up to 2,500 springs.
The Hybrid™ Pro Mattress has seven layers and up to 5,000 springs and offers our plushest feel thanks to an extra layer of Aerocoil® micro springs and a blended wool layer. Added springs and layers provide a plusher, more luxurious feel, even better heat regulation and ultimately an even more comfy night's sleep.
What base can I use for my Simba Hybrid™ Mattresses?
These are some of the common bases used with our mattresses:
Platform top (flat top, can include divans)
Slats (evenly spaced boards)
Sprung divan or box spring (frame with springs set in)
Any supportive bed base — including adjustable — is suitable, as long as that's its dedicated purpose. The Hybrid™ Mattress is at its best on a sprung or rigid divan or slatted bed frame.
If you have a slatted base, quickly whip out the tape measure to check the slats aren't more than three inches apart.
Will I need to turn my Simba Hybrid™ Essential mattress?
No flipping required! You don't have to turn the Essential mattress, but rotating it regularly is one of the few conditions of your 10-year warranty. Give it a 180-degree spin on the base once a month for the first 3 months, then every 3-6 months for the rest of its life. This simple step ensures even wear and maintains optimal performance.
I have back problems. Will this work for me?
We're not medical professionals, and we can't judge what's right for your back.
All we can say is that we've received huge amounts of positive feedback from sleepers who tell they've suffered from aches and pains and that they feel that their Hybrid™ Mattresses have helped them to finally achieve a great night's sleep.
One of the innovations that we've included is our super light comfort spring layer. Our springs are lighter and finer than traditional chunky bedsprings, so you won't get that poking-in feeling. And they're made to a patented, cone-shaped design which hugs every point of the body and pivots and flexes to distribute your weight fully for pressure relief.
